The Job Interview

Once we’ve seen your application, the next stage will be for us to conduct a job interview to find out more about you, and to give you the opportunity to explain in more detail the information on your cv, and why you are interested in hospitality employment opportunities.

If you live a long way away, we will sometimes carry out an initial interview on the telephone, but we will always invite you to come and visit so that we can meet you in person, and show you around the area you would be working in so that you gain a good idea of whether it would be right role for you.

When arranging your interview, please jot down who you’re going to be seeing so that we are able to point you in the right direction when you arrive for your appointment.

Unless you’re told otherwise, come to the main reception at the time of your interview, and ask them to contact the person who is expecting you.

Lots of people worry about which questions they will be asked in a job interview, and every interviewer does this in a slightly different way, but read about our competencies to get an idea of the areas we might ask you about.

For some practical roles, we will invite you back for a practical work trial. We always use this method of recruitment in our kitchens and engineering departments in particular. This will give you the opportunity to show us what you can do in a more familiar environment.
