Meet the Gang
We thought that the best way to show you
how great it is to work for Exclusive was to introduce you to some
of our employees...
Tarryn
Tarryn has been working at
Pennyhill Park Hotel for the past 4 years. She initially
started as a Room Attendant and then moved to Reception after 7
months. Finally she moved onto Reservations and was
promoted to the position of Reservations Supervisor in June
2007.
"Day to day, I work with a team
of four Reservations Coordinators. I look after the
leisure business, booking overnight stays and weekend breaks
with all the trimmings (Spa treatments, Clay pigeon shooting,
Dinner, Archery!). I manage the yearly events diary
as well as yielding the rates that we sell at,
maintaining rate parity and motivating my team!
I love the hustle and bustle of every day life in
our office and there is nothing better than getting an email or
a lovely thank you card in the post from a guest who I made a
booking for. I think it is wonderful that we have the
ability to build long lasting relationships with our repeat guests.
Of course it helps that we have an office filled with
fantastic people who really take pride and care in what they
do.
If I were to sum up working for Exclusive, we
believe in the people we employ and I honestly believe that we
have a vision for each member of staff. We promote internal
training and provide staff with every opportunity to learn more
about Hotels as a business and how to fine tune their
skills."
Fallon
Fallon is Events Coordinator at Lainston
House Hotel. She joined Exclusive four years ago and has held
roles in most of our properties during that time.
"I started by working at Lainston House Hotel as a
Reservations Co-ordinator, I had just left college and it seemed
like the perfect opportunity for me to start my career in the
Hospitality industry. I stayed at Lainston for 2 years before I
decided that I wanted a change of direction in my career.
I then joined the Business Development Team for
Exclusive Hotels which gave me an insight into the company as a
whole, the different properties and the Visions and Values of
Exclusive Hotels. I learnt about market segments and how to
identify different selling opportunities. My main responsibility
was to call companies to develop leads and make appointments for
the Business Development Mangers.
After a year of working with the Business
Development team, I decided that I preferred to organise events and
took the opportunity to work at South Lodge Hotel in the Events
office as a Sales Co-ordinator. At the time South Lodge were
undergoing a very exciting development and it was great to see how
the Hotel grew to become a 5 star property.
4 years in and I am now back at Lainston House
Hotel as an Events Co-ordinator. Each day brings different
challenges and no one day is the same as the next. On a day to day
basis I look after incoming enquiries for corporate clients who
would like to book meetings or events at the hotel. Not only do I
ensure that we maximise revenue by accurate diary management but I
also ensure that I meet and exceed the guests expectations. I look
after their every need up until the day of their event when I hand
over to our Operations team who ensure that the event is run
smoothly.
Exclusive Hotels is a wonderful company to work
for, and being a family run business means that there is continual
Investment into each of the properties. It is great to see that
everyone who works here has a real passion to deliver the ultimate
guest experience. I have loved every moment of my time with
Exclusive. I have had so many fantastic opportunities to grow not
only my career but myself as a person."
Danni
Danni is part of the Sales team at the
Manor House Gof Club. She joined the team five years ago and has
worked in both the Hotel and the Golf Club since then.
"I started working at the Manor House Golf Club
after a trip Down-Under made me realise that studying Law at Uni
just wasn’t for me! I took a job in the Spike Bar whilst deciding
which career path to choose. Being a people person, I decided on
Sales, and several months had passed when an opportunity arose for
me to join the Sales team at the Manor House Hotel to look after
events. A year flew by, when yet another opportunity arose for me
to join the Golf Sales team to look after Corporate and Society
golf. Being quite sporty I grasped this chance and 3 years on I am
still loving it!
What is so rewarding is watching enquiries develop
from the proposal stage to confirmed business and seeing the
relationships flourish between ourselves and our clients.
Most of all I love watching our clients thoroughly
enjoying the experience we deliver. Seeing businesses return on a
yearly basis to hold their events with us makes me proud to be part
of a team where we are all so passionate about delivering
exceptional experiences.
As you can see, Exclusive is all about developing
its staff. Autonomy and individuality is heavily promoted within
the Group, which in return means happy, smiley staff who enjoy
partaking in their daily job roles."
