Carbon Neutral Events
Clients have the option of reducing to net
zero the impact of their conferences making the event
CarbonNeutral®. This is achieved through the purchasing of carbon
credits, otherwise known as carbon offset projects equivalent to
the amount of CO2 produced during the conference.
How is it done?
Using an event carbon calculation developed by
The CarbonNeutral®l Company and independently verified
by The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Management, Exclusive Hotels
calculates the carbon emissions produced by any given event and
presents it to the client for approval.
Once done, we submit it to The
CarbonNeutral®l Company and they in turn work out the
‘carbon credits’ needed to reduce the carbon impact of the event to
net zero.
An estimated cost of 80p per delegate
purchases carbon credits from one of their several verified
worldwide projects This cost is split between clients and
Exclusive Hotels.

Sebenoba-Karakurt
Wind Power Project
This project sees the construction of 21 new wind
turbines at two sites in Turkey. By providing renewable energy, the
project reduces Turkey’s reliance on fossil fuels for electricity
supply.
The project aims to generate
emission reductions of 127,000 tCO2 equivalent in between 2007 and
2009, verified and certified to the Voluntary Carbon
Standard.
Sterksel Biogas Project
This project sees the
construction of biogas facilities at five farms in the Netherlands.
The project reduces methane emissions to the atmosphere and
displaces fossil fuels used to heat local buildings. The project
will generate emission reductions of an estimated 35,000
tCO2 equivalent
between 2006 and 2007, verified and certified to the Voluntary
Carbon Standard.
Behind the scenes
