What we are doing?
We took a room and...
...bit by bit examined what we needed to
do. Pencils supplied are now made from recycled CD cases,
meeting blotters from recycled car tyres and coasters from recycled
vending cups. Still all stylishly five-star but a lot more
appealing knowing the environment has been respected.
The organisers tool box is made from 100% recycled card of
course but it now includes items such as stapleless staplers, shake
& power calculators and recycled sticky pads etc, all tested to
fully function in the way you want.
Time for a coffee break…
We already utilise our fabulous local food
suppliers in the most proactive way, working with them to ensure
our produce is fresh, of the highest quality and has not travelled
far! Further afield (as necessary) we have sourced Fair Trade
coffees and / or ethical teas - a seemingly small gesture
that could snowball into a huge impact.
And not
forgetting water in a meeting room… we chose to continue with
Hildon Water because as a result of our ‘green’ commitment they
themselves have decided to become a CarbonNeutral® company, working
with our partners The CarbonNeutral Company, plus they fell into
our local supplier projects being a neighbour of Lainston
House.
In addition, they have also created an
Environmental Project to fund numerous green initiatives
specifically related to water projects within the UK.
